Assalaamu-Alaikum

I am emailing a Word document that has brainstorming information that I researched. I am not an Aaleem as such so I cannot properly translate or interpret the Quran as it should be.

Please read the information as I need someone to check it and correct me please wherever I might have went over board, so to speak. Please advise or enlighten me about the information or any further research that I should undertake etc.

I have been trying to ‘Describe’ the event in the Quran where Zul-Qarnain build the barrier that prevents Juj and Majuj from emerging until ALLAH allows them to. I realize that we may never uncover their exact location but I feel that we can prove that they exist and that the event had taken place.

Please advise me on this research that I have done and the Theory that I propose about continental drift and the Earth and how this would aid in hiding these tribes from mankind until they are freed by ALLAH.

I am not qualified to research but I have always wanted to research and learn as much as I can before I die and I want to help with educating mankind (Especially myself and my family) about Islam, the Universe.

I believe that Harun Yahya’s work is important… it is like having experiencing the True Discovery Channel in my opinion. I wish that some day we can establish a Satellite Television channel similar to Discovery Channel but from the views that are presented on Harun Yahya web site. – Insha-Allah and Aameen.

The following ideas or assumptions are based on the idea that Zul-Qarnain lived at a time that was during the very earliest stages of our Earth’s existence when ALLAH had made the Earth inhabitable by Humans and perhaps before the well known Prophets but after Adam (AS).

I have tried to find information about the Major sign of the Sun rising from the West (Subhanallah!) and there is some ideas about the event concerning Zul-Qarnain.

As you may read, my information might seem ‘mixed up’ and drifts into other aspects etc. but this is where I request guidance from more educated people.

I was reading an article about Continental Drift a few weeks ago on the Internet and there were certain phenomena associated with this ‘crustal’ activity that caught my attention as I also recalled for some reason, the story of Juj and Majuj that we were taught at Madressah (Islamic School we attended in SA).

This lead me to think of the changes our Earth had undergone over all the years of its existence and I wondered if we had any idea as to WHEN in time this event occurred. So I thought I would look it up in the Quran. I found the relevant Ayah that speaks of this event and I have to admit that I knew I should ask the people in my own community but then decided to go ahead and try to see what I can piece together on my own and admit that I also didn’t want to be distracted by every ones different opinions and views and wanted to approach the subject as an individual seeking knowledge from ALLAH. Do not mistake me because it did occur to me to email information I piece together to people like yourselves hence this email. The reason I decided this is because among my community there are many disputes about many issues concerning Islam and I did not want to start another. – I hope that ALLAH will forgive me wherever I go wrong. Insha-Allah and Aameen.

Below is the brainstorming information I put down whenever I found information and again I plead with you to bare with me as you may see that some information strays off the topic or might be totally irrelevant.

The Sun Rising from the West:
I had researched a few sites that spoke about the Earth and Polar Shifts that happen over a certain period of years and the late Professor Charles Hapgood had uncovered some information that suggests the Earths Poles were changing all the time and will continue to change. He was searching for Atlantis, but I felt that his research also suggested that the Earths Eastern and Western hemispheres might have been in different regions in terms of how the Earth was spinning relative to its Polar positions at the time. In other words if the North Pole was situated South and vice versa in the past, would the Earth have been spinning in a way that made the Sun appear from Earth to rise from the West?

According to Professor Hapgood, the Earth’s poles shifted many times before and I wondered if it was possible that Zul-Qarnain could have lived on an Earth that had different Polar positions.

The question is when would the Earth have been in a stable enough position (in terms of its axis and the location of our North and South Poles) to support Human Life?

If Humans were put on Earth while the Earth was shifting its Poles etc. and forming itself to what we know of today then my theory is worth researching. If mankind only inhabited the Earth after the poles had stabilized at its current position then the region of the setting sun is West, and the rising sun is East. (Chapter 18 Al-Kahf (The Cave): Verses 83-99) If there was a time that the sun rose from the West in the past, but you see this depends on how many times the Earths Poles shifted 180 degrees around.

If the Earth was spinning in the direction it spins today since its creation then The region of the Rising and Setting suns will be the regions as they are today (East and West).

It’s not simple to get all the facts straight especially if I don’t have an expert or something to verify my research.

Once again we can see from the above site, ALLAH is in control of these people until He will free them. Therefore the obvious ways for them to break through the wall do no occur to them.

What we know about these tribes is absolutely unknown… from what the Quran tells us about the incident concerning them and Zul-Qarnain I don’t think that Zul-Qarnain had met them personally.

I wonder how long it took them to erect such a Wall and then to pour Molten Lead over it etc. ?

From what I understand, they first build a Wall of Iron to seal the passage between the Mountain pass and then heated the metal could combine it with Molten Lead. – This would definitely be a tough wall.

Now Imagine that this Huge Metallic/Lead wall was built so many ages ago… What would something like this resemble today if we came across it?

Some think that the Wall is in a land of Ice hidden from mankind (Or somewhere so deep into the Icy regions that no man can go there) this would imply any of the Poles.

If the poles shifted, the Ice covering the regions would also melt away and this could expose the Wall, and maybe the wall will be so old through the centuries that it could be leveled to Dust. – Maybe I am being too literal here, but how long will it take a mass of Iron and Lead to age into dust?

Most ancient ruins become part of the background that they were laid to rest on, so to speak. So this Wall and the Mountain pass it resides between could look like one huge ‘object’ or mountain. – It would have been a remarkable sight to behold at the time this wall was build.

I searched the Net for information on a procedure or method and benefits of Interacting Iron with Molten Lead and came across many sites on the subject…

I thought about why Zul-Qarnain build a Wall of Iron blocks and then poured Molten Lead over it and discovered that this method of pouring molten lead over Iron serves as a way to ensure that the Wall was hardened, strengthened and finally sealed completely.

Today we have a similar (If not the same) method called Austempering which is an isothermal heat treatment (Constant temperature of Heat) that, when applied to ferrous (Metallic) materials, produces a structure that is stronger and tougher than comparable structures produced with conventional heat treatments.

Zul-Qarnain asked these people to blow on the Iron with their Bellows in the following verse:
96. "Bring me blocks of iron." At length, when he had filled up the space between the two steep mountain-sides, He said, "Blow (with your bellows)" Then, when he had made it (red) as fire, he said: "Bring me, that I may pour over it, molten lead."
The dictionary defines ‘BELLOWS’ as follows:
An apparatus for producing a strong current of air, as for sounding a pipe organ or increasing the draft to a fire, consisting of a flexible, valved air chamber that is contracted and expanded by pumping to force the air through a nozzle.
Something, such as the pleated windbag of an accordion that resembles this apparatus.

During my research on the method used for constructing and securing the Wall and while I read an article on the Austempering method for improving the strength of a structure that undergoes the Austempering process I read the following:”The parts (Metallic Parts) are heated to red heat in a controlled atmosphere (so they don't scale) but then are quenched in a bath of molten salt at 450°F (232c) to 750°F (399c). The quench temperature is above the Martensite starting temperature. Therefore, a different structure (not Martensite) results. In the extract above we read that the metallic parts of the structure is heated to RED HEAT, and if we read the above stated Quranic verse regarding the process used to construct the Wall we also read in the Quranic Verse that these people blew on the Iron with their bellows until it was RED as fire BEFORE Zul-Qarnain poured the Molten Lead over the Wall.

If I am not mistaken then it sounds a lot like the method implemented to construct the Wall that barricades Juj and Majuj was very close if not the exact same method used in Austempering.
